Retrospective Medical Certificates

I understand the need for medical certificates for an employee or a student whenever they miss work or school due to illness. Dito nagkakaroon ng excuse if they miss an exam or nakaka-file ng sick leave. If you will notice that a medical certificate contains the date when the physician examined and treated the patient. Ano ba ang purpose nito if the supposedly previously sick patient comes to a doctor and asks for a medical certificate for being absent from work/school days or weeks before? Pag nakita na namin yun patient wala ng sakit, strong as an ox with essentially normal physical examination findings ano lalagay namin sa diagnosis? Well adult but we need to excuse them sa absence nila prior? How can we prove na they had fever, cough, colds, etc.?  Lahat yun magaling na pag nakita namin. I am not saying na they are lying my point is why require a medical certificate kung ok na yun patient at di naman nakita ng doctor at the time of their illness? Allegedly had fever cough blah blah blah? Katarantaduhan to and it is but a waste of time.

I do understand na sometimes when a person gets sick he/she'd rather stay home and rest so ok lang yun.
