Officially this will be my first post on my official blogging site. I was previously blogging on my multiply and facebook accounts prior to this.
First of all happy new year to everyone and I hope that all of you are anatomically intact after the revelries. It's now Jan 7, 2010 and tomorrow mapapalitan na din ang palabas sa sine. It was 3 weeks of hell for me because di ko man lang magamit yun pera na napaghirapan ko to go to the movies because Metro Manila Film Festival! Parehong plot, same old same old artists and even titles baka pag may apo na ako may Shake, Rattle and Roll 113 na. Can we just do away with this annual punsihment? I know marami syang nagegenerate na income for our local industry pero pano naman yun mga tao na gusto ng alternative na mapapanuod? We do have the right to choose what we prefer to watch di ba? We were deprived of the critically acclaimed AVATAR na 1 week lang napalabas dahil kailangan puro festival films lang ang palabas. What kind of sick law is this?!
Di ko naman nilalahat ang local films nanuod din naman ako before ng film fest movies some of them were quite good naman. I just didn't like the choices this year. Ang mahirap lang is masyadong mahaba na walang ibang palabas and isipin na lang natin na ginagawa to tuwing holiday season, so maraming time manuod ng sine. By the end of the week malamang napanuod mo na yun gusto mo. Pano na yun next 2 weeks? Mas ok siguro kung 1 week lang and then the fillms that do well ituloy lang pero haluan na ng foreign films para may choices ang viewing public.
Isa pang nakakaasar sa MMFF is yun the way they give awards. Bakit kasama sa best picture criteria yun gross sales? WTF? Parang walang sense di ba? Another example is the movie RESIKLO by Sen. Bong Revilla it won the best in cinematography but it used DIGITAL film as its medium. Below sea level IQ din ng award giving body.
I know we cannot compete with Hollywood special effects but I know we could write good stories and plots. We shouldn't stick to the same old plots of our revenge driven action flicks, slapstick comedy and love triangle dramas let us think of new ideas naman. Isa pa kung walang talent ang artista wag na syang isama dahil malakas ang pamilya nya or hatak nya sa industry.
